Hidden Gems of Nevada: Pahrump, Nevada. Homebase for Winter ADV Training

We host our winter training sessions in Pahrump, Nevada, and have a solid group of instructors who live in the area and know it well.

When asked what there is to see around Pahrump, they shared many fun pictures and stories. So we decided to take their local expertise and share one of their favorite trips with you. You can get the GPX file below. 

This route offers a mix of interesting terrain, beautiful scenery, and a touch of history, taking you through places like Ash Meadows, Death Valley Junction, Dante's View, and more.

Don't forget, Pahrump is close to section 1 and 2 of the Nevada BDR. If you trained with us you could take a couple days and get some desert dust stuck to your bike.

The Route

Starting Point: Pahrump, NV

Our adventure begins in Pahrump, a town known for its wineries, off-road trails, and proximity to Las Vegas. As you head out of town you're in for some exciting diverse landscapes. 

1. Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge

First stop: Ash Meadows. This desert oasis is home to crystal-clear springs and rare wildlife. Explore and appreciate the serene beauty of this refuge, an ideal spot to stretch your legs and take photos of the unique flora and fauna.

2. Longstreet Inn & Casino and Death Valley Junction

Next, we arrive at Longstreet Inn & Casino, a spot with old west charm. Then, we head to Death Valley Junction, home to the historic Amargosa Opera House. This cultural gem in the desert has a fascinating history and unique performances.

3. Highway 190 to Dante's View

Our journey continues on the scenic Highway 190, leading to Dante's View. At 5,475 feet, Dante's View provides one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Death Valley.

4. Furnace Creek and Furnace Creek Wash Road

Next, we descend into Furnace Creek, the heart of Death Valley National Park. Here, you'll find the visitor center, the historic Furnace Creek Ranch, and the famous date palm groves. Furnace Creek Wash Road offers a mix of pavement and gravel, providing an exciting riding experience.

5. Highway 127 to Shoshone

Highway 127 offers straight stretches and minimal traffic. Our next stop is Shoshone, a small town rich in history. Visit the Shoshone Museum to learn about the area's mining past and cultural heritage. Don’t miss the natural hot springs to unwind after a day of riding.

6. Back to Pahrump

Our adventure concludes as we return to Pahrump, reflecting on the incredible journey. Whether it's the scenic beauty, the historical insights, or sparking the spirit of adventure, this route offers an unforgettable experience.
